The Word on the Street

Body Solid Endurance E400 Elliptical

The Endurance E400 elliptical offers an adjustable stride length, which means it will “fit” every user size in the family. The stride lengths are set at 17", 19", 21”, and 23", manually adjusted on each side of the moving arms. It also has a wireless heart rate control with chest strap, and 5 HR control programs. Otherwise, it has the same specs as the E300 model: the two have the same dimensions, the same patented Center Drive design, low step-up height, and low center of gravity for a rock solid ride.

The ride on the Endurance E400 C-Drive system is superior to many rear-drive ellipticals and most front-drive systems. The oval stride pattern and ergonomically correct stance keeps the user in an upright position, rather than leaning forward, to better simulate a natural running gait. The close pedal spacing eliminates hip fatigue allowing you to workout longer and in better comfort. There aren’t many elliptical reviews on the Endurance E400, unfortunately, but the reputation of Body Solid machines should give you some assurance if you do buy this model without the benefit of trying it out. Body Solid is a premier manufacturer of home and commercial fitness equipment and consistently receives excellent reviews for quality products and responsive customer service.

Our Thoughts

If you don’t need the adjustable stride model, you can get the 21" stride Endurance E300 for $1,599, about $300 less than the E400. However, with a bit of savvy shopping you might be able to get the E400 elliptical even cheaper than the E300. If you are looking for a center-drive elliptical, the Endurance E400 elliptical is a Good Buy.
