The Nautilus E616 Has Decent Features But Subpar Warranty

The E616 elliptical gives you a lot of nice features but its warranty leaves a lot to be desired. It is a step up from the base E614 model with a few more capabilities built in.

The Word on the Street

Nautilus E616 Console

The E616 gets good reviews from customers, but the experts are mixed when it comes to this elliptical.  Most of them get hung up on the subpar warranty, which it shares with the base E614 model

It has a 10 year frame warranty, which is pretty poor for an elliptical trainer listing at $1,499.  You'd be hard pressed to find a machine at that price anywhere else that doesn't have a lifetime frame warranty.  You also get 2 years on the parts, 1 year on electronics and 90 days on labor.

This is a very competitive price category, and with other brands offering better warranties and more features, it's hard to understand why the Nautilus ellipticals continue to be popular.

On the plus side, you do get some nice features.  There are 29 workouts, 25 resistance levels and up to 11 degrees of power incline. (Incline is manual on the E614 model)

The 20" stride is ample and the articulating footpads are large and roomy with extra cushioning.

The E616 features Bluetooth technology, also not present on the E614, which allows you to sync to the Nautilus Fitness App and other popular apps to track your workout results.

There are decent speakers incorporated, connection for your iPod or other mp3 player for your music, and a 3 speed fan to keep you cool.  It's also equipped for wireless heart rate monitoring, unlike the E614 model.

Our Thoughts on the E616 Elliptical

It's hard to recommend any elliptical in this price range that has such a sub-par warranty.  You start to wonder how well it will hold up over time.  At $1,499, you have much better choices, but if you can get it on sale it is much more attractive.

We have seen the E616 on sale for under $800, and at that price we say it may be worth it for all of the features you're getting.  Just make sure you get the extended warranty to cover yourself in case something happens.
