The ProForm 14.0 RE Elliptical with Adjustable Stride

The Word on the Street

UPDATE:  As of 2016, the 14.0 RE is no longer being sold.  You can check out all of the latest ProForm elliptical reviews here.

It’s not always easy to find reviews for machines like the ProForm 14.0 RE elliptical that are just now hitting the market, but there’s been some definite chatter about ProForm’s newest folding elliptical. Most user reviews have been positive; focusing on the elliptical’s smooth action and impressive stability for the price.

It lists at $1299, putting it just inside the window for higher end machines, but it can always be found on sale for around $799, putting it solidly in the middle of the pack for mid-level elliptical machines, where this model really shines. The adjustable stride length was praised for making the 14.0 RE a better fit for most users.

A few reviews noted that consumers should take into consideration that the packaged equipment is sent boxed from overseas and carefully check all parts for damage during shipment. These same reviewers admitted that ProForm’s customer service quickly resolved any issues and sent new parts with no problem.

Our Thoughts

The ProForm 14.0 RE is another machine from a company that focuses on giving consumers what they want – a reliable elliptical machine with a few enjoyable perks without breaking the thousand dollar mark.

The 5” display console is a bit small compared to some higher priced models, but it does the job, providing users with iFit compatibility so that you can tie your workouts to Google Maps, various training events and even inspiring workout videos with the likes of Jillian Michaels.

If you order the ProForm 14.0 RE directly from the manufacturer, you can choose from four delivery options, although only the front step delivery is included in the price.

You can scale up to in-home (just inside the door), in-room (your choice of room) or in-room delivery with full assembly. It may be worth the extra money to avoid having to assemble the ProForm 14.0 RE elliptical yourself if you aren’t mechanically inclined although the $249 fee will push the machine into the high-end price range.
