UPDATE: The PRO 16.0 NE has been discontinued and replaced with the all new Pro 16.9 Elliptical.  Check it out here.

The ProForm PRO 16.0 NE has been very well-received thus far and gets very good reviews from experts and users alike.  There is a new PRO 16.9 model that might replace this one, but that remains to be seen as it is quite popular.

Experts are happy about the fact that ProForm has bumped up their warranties on many machines, and this one has a very generous lifetime frame, 6 years on parts and 3 years on labor.  That's about as good as it gets, especially on an elliptical that costs less than $2000.

Some of the highlights here include the web-enabled touch screen, the 40 workouts to choose from, the adjustable stride and of course, iFit, which gives you even more workouts, sharing tools and Google maps to run anywhere in the world and watch it unfold on the screen in front of you.

Users also like the iPod compatibility and surprisingly high quality speakers so you can listen to music while you work out, something a lot of us like to do.  The multi position hand grips are also great for changing things up a bit, as is the ability to increase your inline up to 20 degrees.

No real complaints on this one at all, as they seem to be covering all of their bases.

Our Thoughts on the 16.0 NE

We like the ProForm PRO 16.0 NE elliptical as it is one of their sturdiest machines and offers a lot of options to take your workouts to the next level.

It gives you generous incline and stride, a lot of workouts, comfort features plus enough entertainment features to satisfy even the pickiest of users.  Between the web, the tablet holder, iPod music and iFit technology they have everything covered except TV.  But you can't ask for everything, especially at this price. (If you do want a TV, you can check out the similar NordicTrack 16.9 elliptical.)

All in all, the 16.0 NE is a great elliptical trainer in the price category, and one of our Best Buys.  You get a whole lot of machine without paying a whole lot of dollars.
