The Word on the Street

UPDATE:  The Reebok Stride Select RL 6.0 is no longer being sold, and the company is no longer making ellipticals.  Check out our Best Ellipticals Under $1000 for a much better option.

Although the Reebok Stride Select RL 6.0 elliptical isn't packed with features, it continues to be a favorite recommendation by fitness instructors who suggest mid-priced machines for their at-home users who are serious about working out buy on a budget.

The Intensity Ramp helps users focus on different muscle groups such as the quads, glutes and calves and has a smooth ride that's the result of using Precor's patented elliptical technology.

Some reviews noted that the best features are ones that aren't included with the basic Reebok Stride Select RL 6.0, such as the iFit compatible Workout Cards, which each contain 8 weeks of progressive workouts with a trainer. To get this, you'll have to pay more.

Our Thoughts

The RL 6.0 elliptical gives an excellent workout at a reasonable price. It benefits from the luxury technology of the parent company, ICON Fitness, giving an exceptionally smooth gliding motion for an inexpensive machine, but you won't get the usual bells and whistles you'll find on some more expensive Reebok models.

Customer service continues to be all over the board, however, with some people complaining about long hold times and lack of response. There seems to be a few problems with cracked casings on the flywheel of the Reebok Stride Select RL 6.0 elliptical, but this is by no means a deal breaker and you can easily get a new case sent to you.

The warranty is decent, but we'd have liked to see 3 years for parts rather than one. If you order from Costco, however, you do get their fabulous return policy.
