The Sole E55 Elliptical Trainer with Adjustable Foot Pedals
Moving up the scale, the Sole E55 elliptical trainer comes in at around $1,500, which is one of their more expensive models. It has some very nice added features that will increase the customized feel of the user experience.
What You Get
Sole elliptical machines are generally very good performers, so you’ll never have a problem in this regard. The Sole E55 ,
however, has some extras that make this elliptical trainer a step above either the E25 or E35. If you’re working out seriously, these features may be worth a few hundred extra dollars to you. Features of the Sole E55 model include:

The Word on the Street
It’s a split decision as far as trainers go. Some feel that spending the extra $300 on the Sole E55 trainer is well worth it for the heart rate control, separate user IDs and adjustable foot pedals. Others felt that unless these are “must haves,” you can stick with the E35 and get the same great performance and the key features (like the sloped pedals and 20” stride) that make Sole elliptical machines excellent choices for in-home use.

Individuals who have purchased a Sole E55 elliptical trainer felt that the extra money was worth it. They usually cited the two user IDs and heart rate control as very important, especially when the machine was being used by more than one person or they were focusing on cardiovascular training. The adjustable foot pedals were credited with alleviating problems such as sore or numb toes after lengthy workouts.
Our Thoughts
We like the Sole elliptical machines in general, and with four options to choose from, deciding which is the best bet is a toss-up. Some of us prefer the added comfort factor of the adjustable foot pedals; others felt that the inclined pedal slope and long stride length were so great that it seemed folly to invest the extra few hundred for minor features.
The bottom line is: You’ll be happy with the Sole E55 elliptical trainer. Will you be happier with the next cheaper model? That’s your call.
