The Word on The Street

Yowza Captiva Plus Console

UPDATE: The Yowza Captiva Plus is no longer available,  leaving just the Captiva model which is the mid-range CardioCore model.  Take a look at our reviews.

Early reviews of the Yowza Captiva Plus elliptical for 2013 are overwhelmingly positive. The earlier version of this machine, also called a Captiva, was extremely popular because it targeted a variety of muscle groups using the unique counter-rotational core motion.

The Plus in this latest incarnation of the Captiva refers to several features that have been improved. The incline is now adjustable up to a 50% grade, which owners love because it really focuses on a variety of muscle groups and can be easily adjusted using console touch-button controls for a smooth transition without the need to break stride.

Several reviews took note of the new wrap-around, stationary handlebars. "Stationary" is deceiving; because of the wrap around style and several unique program settings, users can get a truly focused, intense workout that, in the words of one reviewer, can "kick your butt" when you're working your glutes or focusing on your core.

Our Thoughts

Once again, the adjustable stride and nine programmable, personal workouts make Yowza's Captiva Plus a great choice if there will be multiple users.

Add in the enviable warranty and excellent customer service for those rare moments when you have a problem and you'll be able to see why we recommend the new Yowza Captiva Plus elliptical for anyone who wants a strong core workout as well as strength and endurance training.

The final feature we have to praise is the rear drive, which gives you a nearly silent glide and never needs adjusting.
