The Word on The Street

Yowza Sanibel i35 Console

The Yowza Sanibel i35 elliptical offers the patented counter-rotational core motion that makes the entire line-up of ellipticals by Yowza so popular with serious trainers.

Reviews consistently point out that this unique motion, which alternates between the lower body workout and brief intervals that force you to push and pull with your arms, is exceptional for sculpting the abdominals, helping sculpt the much sought-after six-pack and eliminating those pesky love handles.

Reviewers point at that this particular model features a variable stride and an incline of up to 35%, which is respectable but not as steep as the 50% of Yowza's Captiva.

Most users felt that the 35% incline was more than sufficient, considering that the Sanibel i35 costs about $200 less than the Captiva. On the other hand, the i35 model offers an adjustable stride not found on the Yowza Sanibel of earlier years, which had a fixed 21" stride that limited stride variation.

(Note that the base model in the series, the Pompano elliptical, has a fixed 18" stride, which is not ideal for taller users.)

The Sanibel i35 has a nice array of workouts to choose from, as well as 16 resistance levels, so you can really change things up from one workout to the next.  The SureFit pedals pivot, minimizing impact on the knees and joints.

You also get a very solid warranty, as you do on most Yowza ellipticals, which is a good indication of the quality of these machines.

Our Thoughts on the Sanibel i35

The Yowza Sanibel i35 elliptical combines the best features of both the older Sanibel and the older Captiva with great results. For the majority of users, the 35% incline and adjustable stride are more than enough to provide a great all-over workout.

The warranty is impressive and is backed by the exceptional craftsmanship that defines all Yowza products. With a sale price of about $1800, this is a fantastic machine that should give you a whisper-quiet workout for years.
