The Sole E25 Elliptical Trainer – Well-Built Machine at Mid-Level Price

The Sole E25 elliptical trainer is Sole’s newest entry into the elliptical market. This is their budget version, although we hate to call it that because it’s a quality machine by a manufacturer known for its well-built, durable exercise equipment. At around $1000.00, they’ve managed to bring the price down to the mid-level without sacrificing quality.

What You Get

The Sole E25 elliptical trainer has most of the usual features for a machine in this price range. They’ve also added some innovative engineering that is impressive for even the most expensive models. The specially engineered foot pedals are one example. These were designed by a sports trainer and physical therapist to reduce strain on the joints by angling the pedals in ever-so-slightly (about 2°). It doesn’t sound like much, but it makes a world of difference to how your ankles, hips and knees feel after a long session cross training. Other features of the Sole E25 model include:

The Word on the Street

Fitness experts recommend the Sole E25 elliptical trainer for anyone who wants a quality machine in the $1000-$1500 category. The dual wheel rollers provide a superior glide that, added to the angled pedals, gives the feel of a much more expensive elliptical trainer. They attribute this to Sole’s reputation for outstanding engineering (they’ve provided Hilton Hotels with their treadmills for years).

Consumers notice small details that bring this elliptical trainer brand up a notch. Molded hand grips add to user comfort and the full 20” stride means even the tallest users will get a full workout of their lower body. Their only negative comment is a small one – they are surprised that Sole’s E25 model only comes with a hand grip pulse rate monitor at this price.

Our Thoughts

For an elliptical machine of this caliber, some little details have to go by the wayside, so we aren’t sweating the lack of the chest strap heart monitor. The money has obviously gone into the dual wheel rollers & eddy current brakes that provide such a silky feel to the elliptical motion. The thoughtful engineering of the foot pedals and the sixteen levels of resistance also ensure an intensive workout with less strain. You simply can’t go wrong here – we highly recommend the Sole E25 elliptical trainer.
