The ProForm 710E Elliptical Doesn’t Match Up to the Competition

The ProForm 710E elliptical offers a nice selection of features for a budget machine, but the short warranty and limited quality should give you pause before you put down your hard earned money for this so-so trainer.

The Word on the Street

Proform 710E Console

New for 2012, the ProForm 710E elliptical features a number of interesting specs including SMR™ Silent Magnetic Resistance, an adjustable stride length, 300-lb user weight limit, 20-degree incline ramp, cushioned pedals, hand grip heart rate monitoring, incline and resistance controls located on the console and on the handlebars, and a workout fan.

It also includes a shelf for your iPod so you can listen to music with your ear buds or plug the device in to use the built-in console speakers.

The ProForm 710e has 20 workout programs to get you started on your weight loss journey. You can also take advantage of iFit Live and a one-year free subscription to ifit.com, where you can follow along to workouts designed by pro trainer Jillian Michaels as well as virtual workouts powered by Google Maps™.

You can also upload your workout stats from your elliptical machine to your personal profile account at the website.

Our Thoughts

The ProForm 710E elliptical can usually be found online on sale for $799, so we you should never have to pay the full price of $999 for this machine. As for its performance, reviews mention that the adjustment on the stride length is not as comfortable for a taller person as you might think, since front-drive machines have certain limitations and an 18" to 20" stride length feels more like 16" to 18".

The comfort and ergonomics don’t match up to competitor models, nor does the quality and parts reliability. We suggest you look at NordicTrack and Horizon for better models that sell for around $799.
