When is the best time to save on a new elliptical?

You'll typically find the very best sales during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday period, but there are plenty of other opportunities during the year to save big, including other holidays, seasons, end of the year, New Year's, etc.  

Sometimes these deals are even better than Black Friday/Cyber Monday elliptical deals, e.g. when they are trying to get rid of old inventory to make room for newer models.  This is typically the case towards the end of December or at the beginning of January.

Companies such as NordicTrack and ProForm are always updating models, so those two will give you some fantastic deals, sometimes up to 50% off.

Some buying tips for you...

1. Prioritize the features that you need first, then consider the ones that you want.  Some people love all of the bells and whistles, others just want a solid elliptical trainer that gives them a good workout.  

So think about the must haves, e.g. long strides, incline capability, low impact, compact size and once all of those boxes are checked, you can think about the extras, e.g. touch screen displays, wireless heart rate, speakers, fans, etc.

2.  Try to stretch your budget as much as you can to get a better machine if possible.  

Although an elliptical on sale for $799 looks a lot more appealing than one for $999, if the latter has more features and capabilities you'll likely be more motivated to use it on a daily basis.  And what's $200 over the 10+ years you will likely own the machine, if not more?

3.  Don't put off buying because you are waiting for better elliptical sales to come around.  You can usually get a very good deal throughout the year, so there's no reason to put off your training just to see if you can save even more money.
