The NordicTrack Elite 16.7 Elliptical with HDTV

The NordicTrack Elite 16.7 elliptical is a fantastic looking model in the NordicTrack™ front drive series with the immediate attention being drawn to the addition of a 15” HDTV!

What You Get

The first thing of note is that there is a 32lb flywheel which allows the user to actually sustain a high intensity workout at a high resistance meaning the user can get a lot more out of the machine. But this particular model comes with an amazing 15” HDTV attached above the 10” full color, touchscreen and web enabled display.

There are no cheats in technology on this machine; use the HDTV to watch your favorite programs and use the 10” display to check emails or log into IFIT® to track your workouts through Google Maps™. There are also 26 resistance levels that use 1-Touch™ software to allow easy changeability while using any of the 40 workout apps that the NordicTrack Elite 16.7 elliptical offers. There is also an AutoBreeze™ fan to keep you cool while trekking through the mountains or anywhere in the world!

UPDATE: As of 2016, the Elite 16.7 is no longer being sold.  You can check out all of the new models on sale here.

There appears to be little the NordicTrack Elite 16.7 elliptical doesn’t do but the main reviews are focused on the addition of the HDTV. Whether that is good or bad is a constant argument between reviewers but most see it as a positive in an age of technology. Many users have found that the footprint is actually quite large and the resistance levels start at quite a high level compared to health club machines which takes time to get used to.

The lack of Snap™ assembly means it takes a while to get all the parts put together. But again the link to IFIT® has shown to be troublesome for some as purchasing additional subscriptions after paying out for an elliptical is a little bit of an insult. But when people do use it they love it. The degree changes are great for allowing a tougher workout and the HDTV does give the model a great look.

Our Thoughts

The NordicTrack Elite 16.7 elliptical does appear to be a machine to die for but we have to admit that the addition of a HDTV on a home machine, although great for most users, would be an added distraction and again too much technology for the less tech-savvy people who would be put off by this. But all in all this is a great model from NordicTrack™ and for the price tag you really do get a full bag when you purchase.
