The Word on the Street
The xTerra FS320e elliptical trainer uses concave wheels on dual chrome rails, sealed commercial bearings, IGUS bushings in the rotating arm pivots, a heavy 24-lb steel flywheel, a 20" stride length, and supports a max user weight of 325 pounds. One of its key features is the manually adjustable pedal angle, which can help you to achieve the most comfortable position and lessen fatigue on your joints and in your feet.
In elliptical reviews, equipment pros and consumers give the xTerra FS320e decent marks because of the sturdy construction and very smooth operation. The FS320e shares many of the same features and components as its cousin models, the Spirit EL-355 and EL-455 elliptical trainers, which are also built by Dyaco. Other pluses include the solid 196-lb frame, the dual concave wheels on dual chrome rails, and the same adjustable pedal technology as the one found on the more expensive Spirit Esprit EL-455. The drawbacks on this model are the weak fan, low quality and poor volume speakers, and cheap-looking display layout.
Our Thoughts
The xTerra FS320e elliptical trainer is usually on sale for around $1,099, but it still has a lot of competition at this price point. (Don’t even think of buying it at its MSRP of $1,499 – it is overpriced.) The FS320e is a lot like Dyaco’s Spirit Esprit machines; solid feel with good construction and decent quality, although the appeal of this one is mundane compared to competitor models. You would be better off with either the Sole or Spirit, or even a Livestrong, if you are looking for a front-drive machine, or a Yowza in a rear-drive model.
