The Word on the Street

Precor EFX 5.25 Console

UPDATE: The EFX 5.25 is an older model that is no longer available.  You can check out all of the latest ellipticals here or compare older Precor models on sale here.

Precor invented Elliptical Motion Technology in 1995. Then they developed the first Elliptical Fitness Crosstrainer™, or EFX, by adding an incline that engages different muscle groups in the workout.

The CrossRamp® feature allows the user to alter the height of the elliptical path which also affects the length of the stride. The polyurethane wheels glide on an anodized aluminum ramp giving the EFX a virtually silent operation at any speed or ramp height.

Along with the rear flywheel arrangement, the Precor EFX 5.25 elliptical crosstrainer provides a natural simulation of walking and running without causing jarring of the joints or knee pain.

One of the nice things about Precor elliptical crosstrainers is that the display, components, and programming are consistent from one model to the next. That is, they don’t go wild every year re-inventing a new “look” to their machines. They got it right the first time, and continue to offer the same user-friendly console. For Precor fans, it’s like home, no matter which model you stand on.

If you have been wanting a Precor this is your chance to get the smallest and lightest footprint model, with all the extraordinary features – CrossRamp®, adjustable resistance, HR sensors, challenging programs, and big user capacity – that you want. You won’t find negative reviews or comments on the EFX 5.25 crosstrainer or any other Precor ellipticals unless it is to mention the price, but price-to-value is a subjective estimate that varies for everyone.

Our Thoughts

Hands down, we love any Precor machine – the company has led the elliptical industry for more than two decades now because of the excellence built into every product.

Precor also sells the best Remanufactured Elliptical Machines which are ex-commercial (former health club) units, fully re-built, that sell for half the cost of a new machine.

Compare the $3,399 Precor EFX 5.25 elliptical crosstrainer to other sizes of Precor EFXs so you are sure to get the model that is the best fit for your household.
