UPDATE:  As of late 2017 it appears as though Yowza may be out of business.  In the mean time check out our Best Ellipticals section for a comparable model.

This light twisting motion gives you both a cardio and effective core training exercise in one machine. The patented Counter-Rotational Core Motion is available exclusively from Yowza Fitness on the Captiva, Sanibel i35, and Pompano models.

This technology uses converging axis arm movements to target the muscles in the abs as well as internal and external obliques. While standard elliptical trainers give you back-and-forth moving handlebars to work the arms, the addition of the core rotation on the Pompano offers a true full body workout.

Mechanical features on the Yowza Pompano elliptical trainer include an electromagnetic braking system, a rear-drive roller-less 18" stride length, an incline with no ramp, a low step-up height of 9.5" for easy mounting, and self-pivoting Sure-Fit™ design pedals with perfect spacing.

Comfort features include a water bottle holder, an iPod dock, built-in speakers, a 3-speed fan, and grip pulse handlebars for heart rate monitoring.

Another important feature to note is the lifetime warranty on the frame and brake system, plus generous coverage of 5 years on parts and electronics, and 2 years for in-home labor.

Shipping is free with inside threshold delivery (that means they won’t leave this 181-lb beauty in the box on the curb), or you can pay a small fee for in-room delivery and set-up. Yowza also offers its customers a 30-day money back guarantee.

Our Thoughts on the Pompano Machine

Reviews on the cardio core training ellipticals have been extremely positive, although potential buyers need to keep in mind that this elliptical offers a more intense workout, which may not be suitable for everyone.

If the Captiva ($1,999) and Sanibel i35 ($1,799) are beyond your budget, the Yowza Pompano elliptical trainer at $1,199 brings the remarkable core training to a more affordable level.
