The Livestrong LS13.0E Elliptical – Toughest Model in Its Class

The Livestrong LS13.0E elliptical is endorsed by pro cyclist and Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong, a man who has spent his life pedaling and values quality and “feel” in a machine above all else. The LS13.0E reflects Armstrong’s demand for excellence.

The Word on the Street

Livestrong LS13.0E Console

With a 20" stride length and flat elliptical motion, the Livestrong LS13.0E elliptical delivers one of the best workout experiences in its class. The innovative SIXSTAR Certified™ frame promotes an upright body position: improved posture helps to reduce stress on the joints and provides a more comfortable workout.

The huge 30-lb flywheel and optimal gear-pulley ratio deliver a quiet, liquid-smooth glide. The Livestrong LS13.0E also has the new MaxTone™ arch pedals featuring curved surfaces to engage the glutes and leg muscles for a more intense elliptical workout.

The Livetrack Interactive™ technology lets you plug a USB flash drive (included) into the console to track workouts. Then, take the USB device and plug it into your PC to access livestrong.com to upload your workout results into your own personal Livetrack™ Fitness Journal. You can also download new Lance Armstrong-endorsed training programs from the website.

The $1,299 Livestrong LS13.0E elliptical comes with free shipping, a generous 2-year in-home service warranty and 5-year parts warranty, toll-free support, and one more enticement: you can renew your warranty for as long as you own your equipment. It is more expensive than buying the extended warranty at checkout, but it is a nice option.

Elliptical reviews by equipment pros note that the Livestrong LS13.0E, as well as the entire line, which is made by Johnson Tech, is built with the best components used in Horizon and Vision Fitness machines. (Horizon, the budget line that now also features the SixStar Certification technology, and high-end Vision ellipticals, are also made by Johnson.)

Since Livestrong ellipticals use the same components and technology as Horizon and Vision, equipment pros feel comfortable that the LS13.0E and other Livestrong products will be solid performers, even though the line debuted in 2009 and hasn’t had time to establish a reputation yet.

Our Thoughts

Whoever designed the aesthetics, engineering, and features of the new Livestrong ellipticals has obviously listened to feedback from elliptical riders.

Not only are the LS trainers gorgeous to look at, with the dynamic black frame trimmed in yellow, they consist of features that users want such as a fan and mp3 plug-in, comfortable ergonomics, quiet ride, easy to use console, low step-in height, and of course, a good price.

As our favorite Livestrong elliptical, and one of the toughest models in its class, the Livestrong LS13.0E elliptical is a steal at $1299. It rates a Best Buy.
